TVS Launched The Star City Plus 2021 Edition With Petal Disc Brake

TVS Motor Company has launched the 2021 Edition of the motorcycle with a Roto Petal Disc Brake. It is priced at Rs 68,465 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it Rs 2,600 more expensive than the drum brake-equipped variant.

TVS offers the Star City Plus 2021 Edition with a 240mm petal disc upfront, similar to the TVS Radeon. The rear will continue to get a 110mm drum brake, linked with Combined Braking System (CBS) for optimum safety. This model will come only in a Black-Red dual-tone color scheme. 

Besides the above-mentioned add-ons, no other mechanical changes have been made to the bike. It will continue to be powered by the same 109.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled ETFI Eco-Thrust fuel-injected engine that makes out 8.19PS at 7350rpm and 8.7Nm at 4500rpm. This electronic fuel injected system is claimed to offers 15% better mileage than the BS4-compliant carburetted engine. Mated to a 4-speed gearbox, the Star City + is claimed to reach a top speed of 90kmph. 

In terms of features, the 2021 Edition is equipped with an LED headlamp, USB mobile charger, sporty dual muffler, dual-tone mirrors, two-tone seats, 3D premium logo, and a semi-digital instrument cluster with Ecoometer, service reminder & malfunction indicator. 

As far as the underpinnings in concerned, the commuter features a telescopic front fork and twin 5-step preload-adjustable rear-shock absorbers. In rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with dura grip tubeless tires. In the Indian market, the newly launched Star City+ competes against the Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear, Hero Passion Pro, and the Honda Livo.
