Toyota India is going to launch the Urban Cruiser Hyryder next week. Its bookings are already open for a token amount of Rs 25,000.

Co-developed with Maruti Suzuki, the Toyota Hyryder will be available in four variants: E, S, G, and V. While the base-spec E variant will come only with Suzuki’s 103PS 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine, the latter three will get both mild-hybrid and Toyota’s TNGA 1.5-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine options. It is worth noting that Toyota will be offering the strong hybrid powertrain from the second-from-the-base variant, whereas the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will offer the same from its second-from-the-top variant. Therefore, we expect the prices of Toyota Hyryder’s strong hybrid trims to start from a lower point than Grand Vitara’s hybrid variants.
