Toyota Hilux – Engine and Gearbox
Revealed by a source, the Toyota Hilux will be driven by a 2.8-liter, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine making a maximum power of 208PS along with a peak torque of 500Nm. The power will be sent to the wheels via either a 6-speed manual or an optional torque converter automatic gearbox, paired with a part-time 4X4 transfer system with Active Traction Control and Auto Limited Slip Differential.
Unlike its global version, the India-bound Hilux will not get the 150PS 2.4-liter diesel unit.

The 5-seater Hilux pickup truck will borrow some elements from Fortuner and Innova Crysta, which are also based on the same platform as the Hilux. An optional Panoramic View Monitoring System (360-degree camera) could also be on offer.
Toyota will also provide the Hilux with multiple cosmetical and functional accessories.

The Hilux will be offered with a standard warranty of 3-years or 1 lakh kilometers (whichever is earlier), along with an optional extended warranty package ranging up to 5 years or 2.2 lakh kilometers.
