Toyota Crysta Facelift To Launch On 24 November

Toyota unveiled the Innova Crysta facelift last month in the Indonesian market and now the brand is gearing up to launch the MPV in the Indian market. If sources are to be believed, it is likely to come to our shore on 24th November, and even some of the dealerships have also begun taking unofficial bookings for a token amount of Rs 50,000.

2020 Toyota innova crysta

It's the first time when the Innova Crysta is getting the mid-life update since it was launched in 2016. The updated Innova Crysta will come with a redesigned front facia, newly styled alloy wheels, and some additional new features. This mainly includes a new glossy black grille surrounded by chrome elements, a new front bumper with a blacked-out section, multi-array LED headlamps and repositioned LED fog lamps. It will also feature a refreshed rear bumper and black plastic element on the tailgate.

Inside, the changes are quite subtle and it will look largely similar to the pre-facelift model. For better convenience, it will get a new 9-inch Miracast touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a slightly updated instrument cluster design, an in-built air purifier with an air quality indicator. Besides from these added features, the new Innova could also get new interior colour schemes.

It is also important to note that the ASEAN NCAP has recently crash-tested the Indonesia-spec Innova facelift and it received a 5-star safety rating. Hence, we expect a similar performance from the India-spec model.

On the mechanical front, the facelifted Innova Crysta is expected to be offered with the same set of engines like the current model. These include a 2.7-litre petrol engine (166PS/145Nm) and 2.4-litre diesel motor (150PS/up to360Nm). Both engines offer rear-wheels-drivetrain (RWD) as standard with the choice of a 5-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Currently, the Innova Crysta is priced between Rs 15.66 lakh to Rs 23.63 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted model is expected to command a premium over the current model. Once launched, it will continue to get competition from 7-seater SUVs like the MG Hector Plus and the upcoming Tata Gravitas.
