The automobile sector has started recovering from the economic impact caused by the second wave of the COVID19 pandemic. And with the market gaining its normal pace again, Maruti Suzuki has re-established its influence in the passenger vehicle segment with eight of its models secured their place in the top 10 most selling cars list of June 2021. Maruti Suzuki’s compact offering, the WagonR, displaced the Hyundai Creta in the most selling cars list last month, which was the best seller in May 2021.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift was the second best-selling car of the month, witnessing the highest YoY growth of 342% in sales. However, it was the Maruti Eeco van that has seen the most ballooning in the monthly sales figures.
All the top-6 models in the list sold over twelve thousand units.
Hyundai continued to be India’s second-largest OEM in the month of June 2021, but only two of its models made their way to the top 10 list. To be precise, only the Hyundai Creta and Grand i10 range made to the seventh and tenth positions respectively.
The Hyundai Creta dropped down from the first to seventh spot, despite having an MoM and YoY growth of up to 38%. The Grand i10 range, on the other hand, has slipped down from 9th position in May to 10th place in June with over 8,700 units sold.
