This Is How The Next-Gen Maruti Suzuki Celerio Will Look Like

The next-generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio is expected to be launched in September 2021. It has been spied numerous times during testing, but we've now got a clear look at the whole thing.

Compared to the ongoing model, the new Celerio looks quite curvier, discarding its boxy exterior. It gets a small oval-shaped grille upfront with large droplet-shaped halogen headlamps connected by a chrome strip. Its bumper has also been redesigned and now features a prominent blacked-out housing for the small air dam and round fog lamps.

The side profile of the car makes it look larger than the ongoing model, thanks to the new Heartect platform. It comes with blacked-out alloy wheels (probably of 14-inches), and comparatively more monotonous character lines. One can also notice the tapering roofline and ORVMs-integrated turn indicators.

Things are much cleaner at the rear, where it gets large tail lamps, a sculpted boot, and a restyled bumper with two horizontally stacked reflector strips on each side.

We are yet to get clear interior images of the new-gen Celerio. However, the earlier spy shots suggest that its cabin has also undergone a complete overhaul. It is expected to come loaded with features like a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, front & rear power windows, remote locking, steering-mounted audio controls, dual airbags, rear parking camera, and rear parking sensors.

Powering the 2021 Maruti Celerio will be the existing 68PS 1.0-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine that also comes with a factory-fitted CNG option. Besides, it could also get the larger 83PS 1.2-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine from the WagonR. Both engines are likely to be offered with a 5-speed manual and an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).

2021 maruti suzuki celerio expected price

The next-gen Celerio will be slightly pricier than the existing model, which retails from Rs 4.66 lakh to Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Once launched, the compact hatchback will rekindle its competition with the Tata Tiago, Hyundai Santro, and the Datsun GO
