Tata Tiago EV Teased Again; Front Profile Revealed Partially

Tata Motors has once again teased the Tiago EV, partially exposing its front profile. The teaser shows its closed-off grille with an ‘EV’ badge on the side. The projector headlamps and the front bumper seem to be the same units as its ICE model. However, it’s likely to receive a newly designed air dam, differently styled wheels, and blue highlights inside & out to denote its electric nature. The interior is likely to feature a revised upholstery.

Tiago.ev - Launching on 28.09.2022 at 11.30 AM IST

Besides, Tata has already confirmed that the Tiago EV will get cruise control and multi-level regenerative braking as the Nexon EV. It will also be equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry, auto AC, height-adjustable driver’s seat, digital instrument cluster, and steering-mounted controls.

What’s still under the wraps are its technical details. We expect it to be powered by the same 26kWh li-ion battery as the Tigor EV, paired with a 75PS rated permanent magnet synchronous motor. With this, it is expected to offer a driving range of over 300 kilometers on a single charge. It will also support DC fast charging of up to 50KW.

The Tiago EV is scheduled to be revealed tomorrow. We assume Tata to price it from around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric hatch will have no direct competitors at launch.
