Powering the Tiago and Tigor CNG is the same 86PS 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. However, the power output will be lower (73PS) when running on CNG. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard for the cleaner fuel to keep costs in check.

Both these cars can be started directly on CNG, which Tata describes as a segment-first feature.

Apart from this, both the models also get a revised digitized instrument cluster (features CNG gauge) and fuel-lid cut-off system which shuts down the engine when the fuel lid is open.

All of these changes are done across its petrol and CNG lineup.

Competitors

While the Tiago CNG goes up against the CNG versions of Maruti Wagon R, Celerio, and Hyundai Santro, the Tigor locks horns with the Hyundai Aura CNG and the upcoming Maruti Dzire CNG.
