Tata Punch (HBX) – New Images Revealed Side and Rear Profile

Tata Punch (HBX) is all set to kick-start its India innings in the coming months. While its front design has already been shown, the brand has now revealed the side & rear profiles of the upcoming micro-SUV through a new teaser video. 

The side profile of the Tata Punch is dominated by the squared-off fenders that accommodate dual-tone alloy wheels. It also features prominent body cladding that extends all around the car. At the rear, the mini-SUV features a tri-arrow LED tail lamps and strong creases & body line that will remind you of the Nexon sub-4m SUV. Other highlights include an upright rear bumper with faux skid plate, blacked-out pillars & roof rails, the door-mounted rear door handles, and a blue body shade with contrast white on the roof & ORVMs. 

All-in-all, its muscular body lines, slightly raked roofline, and boxy proportions give it a majestic look.

Talking about the front, the Tata Punch looks like a scaled-down version of the Harrier mid-size SUV, featuring a humanity line grille, split headlamp setup, and X-shaped dual-tone front bumper.

Tata hasn’t released Punch’s interior images, but the earlier spy images exposed that it’ll also be similar to the concept model. That said, it will get a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a Harman sound system, auto climate control, cruise control, automatic headlamps, connected car technology, and a push start/stop button. Safety kit will include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, corner stability control, and rear parking sensors with a reversing camera. 

This smallest Tata SUV is expected to be powered by Altroz’s 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (86PS/113Nm) and 1.2-litre turbocharged (110PS/140Nm) petrol engines. Transmission options could include a 5-speed manual as well as a 5-speed AMT. Reports are suggesting that Tata is unlikely to offer an oil burner with the Punch.

Expect Tata to price the SUV from Rs 5 lakh onwards, positioning it against Mahindra KUV100 NXT, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, and the upcoming Hyundai Casper (AX1).
