Tata Nexon iCNG vs. Maruti Brezza CNG: Spotting the Differences

Tata Motors recently unveiled the Nexon iCNG at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. Upon its launch, it will join the Maruti Suzuki Brezza in the lineup, which currently stands as the only CNG offering in the segment. However, the two offerings are quite different from each other. The Tata Nexon CNG sets new benchmarks in the segment as the first-ever turbocharged-petrol-powered CNG, boating cutting-edge technologies like twin-cylinder CNG capable of storing 60L of gas while providing roughly 230 litres of usable boot space. Additionally, safety is prioritised with features like leakage-proof materials, thermal incident protection, single advanced ECU, direct start in CNG and leak detection failure.

Features Comparison

Offered in three variants – LXi, VXi and ZXi, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG comes loaded with dual LED projector headlamps, alloy wheels, a 7-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Arkamys-tuned sound system, steering mounted controls, OTA updates support, electric sunroof, cruise control, height-adjustable driver’s seat, 60:40 split rear seat, smart key with push-button start, power-adjustable & foldable ORVMs, auto AC, rear AC vents, rear defogger, rear wiper & washer, dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with camera.

In the case of the Tata Nexon, the probability of offering the CNG option will probably be limited to specific variants of the SUV, including the higher-spec Fearless trim. It comes equipped with features like automatic LED headlamps with sequential DRLs, digital driver’s display, floating touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, connected car technology, a premium JBL sound system, auto climate control, ventilated front seats, height-adjustable front seats, cruise control, six airbags, 360-degree camera, hill assist, among others.
