Skoda Slavia Production Begins; Launch Soon

  • Skoda Slavia is slated to launch in Q3 of 2022.

Skoda Auto India has commenced series-production of the Slavia mid-size sedan ahead of its launch in March 2022. Its bookings are already underway for Rs 11,000, while the test drives will begin from February.

Skoda Slavia – Variant and Colour Options

For those who aren’t aware, Slavia will be Skoda’s second model that will be based on the highly localized MQB-A0-IN platform. It will be available in three variants: Active, Ambition, and Style, and five colors: Brilliant Silver, Tornado Red, Crystal Blue, Candy White, and Carbon Steel.

Skoda will offer the Slavia with a plethora of premium features such as an all-LED illumination system, 16-inch alloy wheels, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, connected car tech, single-pane electric sunroof, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, automatic AC, ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, wireless charger, cruise control, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, front & rear armrests, and much more.

Passengers’ safety will be ensured by up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill assist control, rear parking sensors with camera, tire pressure monitoring system, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Powertrain

Under the hood, the Slavia will borrow Kushaq’s 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engines, paired with manual and automatic transmissions. Here’s a look at their specifications and variant availability: –

Skoda Slavia – Expected Price and Rivals

We expect Skoda Slavia to be priced from Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. Once launched, it will lock horns with the Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, and the upcoming Toyota Belta.
