Skoda Kushaq Rivalling Volkswagen Taigun To Be Reveled On March 31

Stepping the footprint of its Czech Republican sibling, the Volkswagen is reportedly to unveil its upcoming compact SUV Taigun soon. It is likely to be revealed on 31st March 2021. It is essentially a Volkswagen's version of the Kushaq SUV with distinct styling; however, the dimensions, platform & powertrains are likely to be similar.

The Volkswagen Taigun will be based on the VW Group’s localised MQB-A0-IN platform and it is expected to remain largely identical to its pre-production model showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. To be precise, it will share its styling cues with the global spec T-Cross and the Tiguan. The notable design elements of the Taigun include a chrome slatted grille, flanked by LED headlamps, honeycomb pattern for the lower air intake with a chrome bar placed just above it, connected LED tail lamps, silver skid plate, and multi-spoke alloys with large wheel arches & body cladding adding to the rugged appeal.

Not only the underpinnings, but the VW Taigun will also share the engine choices with the Skoda Kushaq. It will be offered with two turbocharged petrol engines, comprising a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder (115PS/175Nm) and a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder unit. Both engines are likely to be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. The former mill might also get a 6-speed torque converter automatic option while the latter could be offered with a more advanced 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission option.
