Six Airbags Now Standard In All Hyundai Cars

Amidst heightened focus on safety and the forthcoming Bharat NCAP testing program, Hyundai has upgraded its entire product lineup, making six airbags (dual-front, side and curtain airbags) standard. With this, it has become the first mass-market automaker in India to do so.

Most of the Hyundai cars, including the budget-friendly Exter SUV and the recently launched i20 Facelift, were already available with standard six airbags. The only exceptions were the Grand i10 Nios, Venue, Venue N Line and Aura. Now, all of these models also get 6 airbags as standard.

Besides six airbags, all Hyundai models also get ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, day/night IRVM, 3-point seat belts for all seats along with seatbelt reminders, high-speed alert, etc., as standard across the range.

Features like tyre pressure monitoring systems, hill hold assist, ESC, ISOFIX anchors, dual dashcam and ADAS are limited to some specific variants and models.

HYundai Verna NCAP crash test rating

In other news, the new-gen Hyundai Verna has recently been awarded a 5-star safety rating by the Global NCAP. With this, it becomes the first made-in-India Hyundai model to recieve a 5-star rating in the safety tests.
