Kia Carens X-Line Edition Launched At Rs 18.95 Lakh

In response to the resounding success of the Seltos X-Line, Kia India has now introduced one more X-Line Edition variant and this time, it’s tailored for its versatile Carens MPV.

As the above table reveals, the Kia Carens X-Line Edition is based on MPV’s top-spec Luxury Line 6-seater trim and commands a premium of Rs 55,000 over the regular model. For these added bucks, the Carens X-Line get: –

  • Exclusive Matte Graphite exterior colour
  • Gloss black finish on the grille, bumpers, side mirrors, skid plates and side door garnishes.
  • Silver-coloured finish on brake callipers
  • Splendid Sage Green and Black upholstery
  • Green seats with orange contrast stitchings
  • Rear entertainment screen on the left passenger seat – supports screen mirroring, podcasts, and other entertainment apps (can be controlled via mobile app)

Kia has offered the X-Line variant in a sole 6-seater configuration.

Regarding features, the X-Line trim carries forward all the equipment of the standard model. Key highlights include automatic LED headlamps with DRLs, electric sunroof, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech, BOSE sound system, digital instrument cluster, auto AC, rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, cruise control with speed limiter, 64-colour ambient lighting, retractable backseat tray, electric tumble function for 2nd row seats, in-built air purifier, six airbags, front & rear parking sensors, ESC and much more.

Powertrain

As mentioned above, the Kia Carens X-Line can be had with either a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol (160PS/253Nm) or a 1.5-litre diesel engine (116PS/250Nm). While the former gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the latter comes mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit.

Competitors

In the Indian market, the Kia Carens faces competition from the Maruti Suzuki XL6. It can also be seen as an alternative to the Toyota Innova Hycross, Innova Crysta and Maruti Suzuki Invicto.
