Ola S1Z With In-House LFP Battery Launched; Claims 301km Range

Ola Electric has recently launched the S1Z electric scooter, featuring the brand’s in-house developed Bharat Cell LFP batteries. The scooter is offered in two variants — a 3.1 kWh version priced at Rs 79,999 and a 5.1 kWh version at Rs 99,999 (both prices, ex-showroom), with the latter claiming a range of over 300km on a single charge.

Thanks to these locally manufactured battery packs, the Ola S1Z has become India’s most affordable electric scooter to claim over 300 km of range. More importantly, the Ola S1Z will be the first model to be sold through dealer-operated stores, marking a shift from the company’s earlier company-owned retail network.

Ola S1Z – Battery, Charging Time and Other Specifications

Powering both the variants of the Ola S1Z is a 4W motor, offering a claimed top speed of 70 kmph. It is powered by the brand’s indigenous developed and locally manufactured Bharat Cell, featuring 46-series LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) chemistry, which offers greater thermal stability and a longer life cycle than the NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) cells, which are commonly used in Indian electric 2-wheelers.

Speaking of charging, the Ola S1Z comes equipped with onboard charging, with a 500W capacity in the 3.1kWh version and 750W capacity in the 5.1kWh variant. This means you don’t need to carry a bulky external charger; a small charging cable is all you need.
