No Price Reduction for Mahindra XUV400 EV Despite Competitors Move

Recently, Tata Motors reduced prices for its Nexon EV and Tiago EV due to the softening of battery cell prices, while MG introduced a new entry-level Executive variant for the ZS EV, bringing the starting price down to Rs 18.98 lakh. However, Mahindra has decided not to implement price reductions for the Nexon.ev-rivaling XUV400. Mahindra’s executive director and CEO, Rajesh Jejurikar, confirmed the news during a press meeting for the Q3 FY24.

For those unaware, the Mahindra XUV400 EV recently underwent its most significant update. It is now available in two Pro variants, namely EC Pro and EL Pro, priced between Rs 15.49 – 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

The EC Pro variant comes with a 34.5kWh battery pack and 3.3kW AC charger, while the EL Pro is available with both 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh battery pack options, with a 7.2kW AC charger as standard. Let’s take a look at their detailed specifications: –

While the upgraded XUV400 doesn’t receive any changes to its drivetrain, it boasts an updated interior, along with some new features to make it a more competitive option against the Nexon.ev.

In other news, Mahindra is gearing up to introduce a mid-life facelift update for the XUV300, essentially the ICE-powered version of the XUV400. It is expected to be launched next month, with changes likely to be on par with the XUV400 Pro model.
