Nissan Rolls Out 50,000th Unit Of The Magnite From Chennai Plant

Nissan launched its highly popular offering, the Magnite in December 2020. And now, the carmaker has rolled out the 50,000th unit of the sub-4m SUV from its Chennai-based manufacturing plant. That’s impressive considering we’ve experienced multiple lockdowns and a global semiconductor shortage during the same period. In fact, the chip crisis still persists.

Commenting on this occasion, Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said, –

Currently, the Magnite is bagging over 72,000 bookings in India. The brand also exports the SUV to 15 other countries and it has clocked over 1 lakh cumulative sales in domestic and export markets. It is available in six broad trims: XE, XL, XV Executive, XV, XV Premium, and XV Premium (O), priced from Rs 5.76 lakh to Rs 10.15 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

It also comes with a more powerful 1.0-liter turbo-petrol (100PS/160Nm) with the choice of a 5-speed manual and an optional CVT automatic transmission (152Nm peak torque with CVT).

The brand also claims that the Magnite has the lowest-in-class maintenance cost of 30 paise/km (for 50,000 km). It comes with a 2-year/50,000km standard warranty (whichever comes first), which can be extended for up to 5 years / 1 lakh kilometers at some additional cost.
