Nissan Reveals Magnite Kuro Edition and Showcases Magnite AMT

Nissan India has just showcased two new versions of the Magnite SUV: the Magnite Kuro Edition and the Magnite EZ-Shift. The latter is essentially the AMT variant of the Magnite, offered with 1-litre naturally aspirated engine. Both are expected to go on sale in the coming days.

Nissan Magnite Kuro Edition

• The Nissan Magnite Kuro Edition is basically the Black Edition that is based on the higher-spec XV trim of the SUV. It boasts an all-black treatment inside and out.

• For beginners, the Magnite Kuro Edition comes wrapped in a stealthier all-black exterior paint scheme, accompanied by an all-black finish for the grille, grille surrounds, ORVMs, alloy wheels, and skid plates.
• There’s also the red-coloured brake callipers for a sportier appeal.

• The all-black theme continues inside the cabin as well, featuring blacked-out roof liners, sun visors, door trims, door handles, steering wheel, and AC vents.
• Regarding features, the Kuro Edition comes equipped with all the standard model’s features, including LED headlamps, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charger, auto AC, rear AC vents, height-adjustable driver’s seat, digital instrument cluster, cruise control, 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, ESC, and dual-front airbags.
• Powertrain options for the Nissan Magnite Kuro Edition are yet to be revealed.

Nissan Magnite EZ-Shift

Until now, the Magnite was offered with two transmission options: 5-speed manual and CVT automatic. While the manual gearbox option was standard, the CVT transmission was limited to the 1-litre turbocharged petrol engine. But now, Nissan has offered the 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) option for the 1-litre naturally aspirated engine.

The AMT option will be offered with Magnite’s entire variant lineup, comprising XE, XL, XV and XV Premium.

Pricing for the Magnite AMT is yet to be revealed; however, it is expected to command a premium of roughly Rs 55,000 over their manual counterparts.

Competition

In the sub-4m SUV segment, the Nissan Magnite competes with the Renault Kiger, Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Fronx, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue.
