Nissan Magnite: Which Variant Is Suitable For You?

Nissan India has launched the Magnite sub-4m SUV at a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom India). It is available in four trim (four variants: XE, XL, XV, XV Premium), and two petrol engine (1.0L NA & 1.0L turbo) choices. Through this article, we will explain what each trim of the new Magnite offers, and we will also try to figure out that on which variant you should spend your money. But before we jump into the variants-wise features details, here first have a look at its mechanicals, and dimensions:-

1. Nissan Magnite XE

• Exterior –  Halogen headlamps, 16-inch steel wheels, front and rear faux skid plates, roof rails with a loading carrying capacity up to 50kgs, chrome on the front grille, body-colored bumpers, body-colored door handles, rear spoiler with high mounted roof lamp, black side sill and moulding, black wheel arch cladding.

• Interior –  All-black cabin, fabric upholstery, chrome on AC knobs & parking brake button, 1-liter bottle holders on all doors, two 1 litre bottle holders in the centre console, 10-litre glovebox, mobile tray in the centre console, silver finishing on AC vents, steering & gearknob, slide + reclining function for front seats.
• Comfort & Convenience –  All-four power windows, manual AC with heater, electric power steering, 3.5-inch TFT instrument cluster with gear shift indicator, front & rear adjustable headrests (x4), tilt-adjustable steering, internally adjustable ORVMs, passenger side sun visor with mirror, rear wiper, front 12V power outlet, map lamp, cabin lamp, two luggage hook, two coat hook, and door armrests.

2. Nissan Magnite XL

Key Features (Over XE trim) –

• Exterior–  Silver skid plates on the front and rear bumper, body-colored mirrors (ORVMs) with side indicators, chrome finishing on door handles (CVT only), dual-tone cover for 16-inch steel wheels.

• Interior– Rear centre armrest with 2 cup holders & a mobile holder (Turbo only), rear parcel tray, driver dead pedal (CVT only)
• Entertainment- Integrated audio system with MP3, AM, FM, Aux & Bluetooth support, 4-speakers + 2-tweeters.

• Comfort & Convenience – Steering mounted controls, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable and foldable wing mirrors, 2.4A fast-charging USB port, 60:40 split rear seats (Turbo only), passive keyless entry with push-button start/stop (CVT only), driver side window auto up/down, outside temperature display, and I-key handsfree entry (CVT only).

3. Nissan Magnite XV

Key Features (Over XL trim) –

• Interior – Illuminated glovebox, sport mode switch on gear knob (for CVT only). 

• Entertainment- An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Voice recognition functionality. 

• Comfort & Convenience – 7-inch colored instrument cluster, MID controls on steering, push-button start/stop, height-adjustable driver's seat, seat-back pockets, rear-seat armrest with two cupholders & mobile holder, 60:40 split rear seat, mirror on driver side sun visor, boot lamp, and I-key handsfree entry. 
• Safety – Rear-view camera and ISOFIX child seat.

4. Nissan Magnite XV Premium

Key Features (Over XV trim) –

• Exterior – LED bi-projector headlamps with integrated indicators, and chrome moulding for the rear quarter window.

• Interior – Premium black coloured fabric upholstery, front door trim in fabric, leather-wrapped parking brake & steering wheel with grey stitching, silver embellishment on door trim.

• Comfort & Convenience – Cruise control, rear AC vents, front centre armrest, 12V power socket at the rear, Nissan connect with 50+ Features & Smartwatch Connectivity (optional with turbo model). 

• Safety – 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system.
• Technology Package (Optional) – Wireless charging, air purifier, ambient mood lighting, puddle lamps, and JBL speakers, etc. 

Which variant should you buy?

• The base XE-variant is quite loaded and offers all the basics that one requires. However, it doesn't get any factory-fitted entertainment system. But you can get it from the aftermarket. If you are on a tight budget and want a decently loaded model, the XE variant is ideal for you. For all others, we suggest you skip this variant. It is also important to note that the base trim is only available with the naturally aspirated engine, and that may feel underpowered, especially in full-load conditions.
• The XL variant commands a premium of Rs 1 lakh over the XE variant and the price hike is not fully justified as most features are only available with the turbocharged model. Hence, If you are looking for a performance-oriented variant and can't expand your budget, then this is the right choice for you. And if you want an automatic Magnite, this will be the base version. 

• According to us, the Magnite XV is the most value-for-money variant with some segment-first inclusions on offer. It comes with almost all the whistles & bells, and that’s why it is our recommendation to you. 
• If the budget is not a bar then the top-spec XV Premium can be a great choice for you as it comes with additional comfort & safety features.
