2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift – Crash Test Results

The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift underwent rigorous testing by Euro NCAP, focusing on several key safety parameters:-

  1. Crash Tests: Evaluated in frontal, lateral, and rear impacts. It provided good protection for heads and knees, with variable chest protection and some risk areas identified on the dashboard.
  2. Side Barrier and Pole Impact: Adequate to good protection for critical body areas like chest and other body parts in both tests. Front seats showed good whiplash protection.
  3. Rescue and Extrication: The Swift features an e-call system but didn’t fully meet NCAP requirements. Doors could be unlocked underwater, but window durability under submergence remains unclear.

  1. Child Occupant Safety: Mixed results in frontal and side tests for child dummies, with varying levels of neck, head, and chest protection noted.
  2. Vulnerable Road Users: The bonnet provides adequate pedestrian protection, while the A-pillars showed poor performance. The autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system performed adequately in detecting pedestrians and cyclists.
  3. Safety Assists: Includes AEB and forward collision warning (not in India-spec). The AEB system adequately detects vehicles, but lacks an occupant detection system.

Overall, while the Maruti Suzuki Swift demonstrates solid safety in some areas, improvements in others could enhance its overall safety rating.
