New Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Spied Testing For The First Time

Maruti Suzuki has started testing the second-generation version of Vitara Brezza in our country. It is expected to be launched by the end of next year. Since the SUV was extensively covered, it's hard to tell anything about its new design. But its upright silhouette looks similar to the existing model.

For those who aren't aware, Maruti Suzuki had launched the first-gen Vitara Brezza in 2016. Since then, the sub-4m SUV has only received one facelift update, that too in 2020. And so, a generation update was due for a long time.

We reckon the new Vitara Brezza will come with a completely distinct design and a host of new features that will make it more competitive against its core rivals like Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.

Maruti could also improve the sheet quality and safety quotient of the SUV. It currently has a 4-star adult safety rating (tested by Global NCAP), making it the safest Maruti Suzuki car in the Indian market. 

It will be quite early to speak about its mechanicals. But we believe the new Vitara Brezza will retain its ongoing 105PS 1.5-liter petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. However, Maruti Suzuki could slightly tune the engine to make it compatible with the high blend ethanol-based flex-fuel

Currently, Maruti Suzuki retails the Vitara Brezza between Rs 7.61 lakh to Rs 11.19 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Expect its next-generation version to command a significant price premium over the ongoing model.
