The Honda Shine 100 has recently debuted as the marque’s most affordable commuter in the Indian market. Using the Shine cognomen, the Japanese bikemaker has played its cards wisely, but it has a few differences from its elder sibling, the Shine 125.

The biggest difference is in the engine capacity and specifications. While the Shine 100 has a 99.7cc motor, the Shine 125 is propelled by a 124cc mill. Here’s a look at their specifications: –

Dimensions

  • While the full dimensions of the Shine 100 are yet to be revealed, its wheelbase is 40mm shorter than its elder sibling.
  • At 786mm, its seat height is also 5mm lower than the 125cc model.
  • Shine 100 has 168 mm ground clearance, which is slightly higher than Shine 125’s 162 mm.

Suspensions and Braking System

  • Both the Shine 100 and Shine 125 sit on a diamond frame and gets front forks and twin rear shocks. However, the Shine 125 gets five steps of preload adjustability for the rear unit, which is missing in the Shine 100.
  • For anchoring, the Shine 100 gets drum brakes at both ends, whereas you can have the Shine 125 with an optional front disc unit.
