New-Gen Hyundai Creta In Works; Launch Expected By 2027

Hyundai Motors introduced the facelift iteration of the 2nd-generation Creta last year, and now, the brand is gearing up for its new generation version, which is expected to hit markets in 2027. Codenamed SX3, the third-generation Creta will flaunt a completely new design inside out, along with a strong-hybrid powertrain option.

As per Autocar India’s report, the 3rd-gen Creta will be the second Hyundai model in India to get a strong hybrid powertrain. The first will be a new mid-size SUV (codenamed Ni1i), likely be positioned between the Alcazar and Tucson in the brand’s product lineup.

While details are scarce at the moment, Hyundai is expected to utilise its 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine to pair it with a strong hybrid setup. Globally, the Hyundai Tucson comes with a 1.6-litre TGDi petrol-hybrid setup. However, it won’t be a cost-effective option for the Indian market.

Besides the new hybrid mill, the 2027 Hyundai Creta could carry forward the ongoing 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options. The upgraded SUV is also likely to get a long list of new features, including a heads-up display, memory function for the front seats, and slide function for the rear seats.

Along with the ICE-powered Creta, the Creta Electric is also expected to be updated by then.
