MG Windsor EV Launched at ₹9.99 Lakh, Undercutting Tata Punch EV

MG India has finally announced the prices of the Windsor EV. This electric crossover retails from Rs 9.99 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). It is essentially a rebadged version of the Wuling Cloud EV, which also comes under the umbrella of the Chinese automotive giant SAIC Motor Corporation as MG Motor. Bookings for the Windsor EV will open on October 3, and the test driver will start on September 25th. Its deliveries will commence from October 12, 2024.

MG is offering Windsor EV solely with the Battery as a Service (BaaS) model, where owners can lease or subscribe to a battery rather than purchasing it outright with the vehicle. Instead of buying the battery, users will have to pay a Rs 3.5 / km fee for access to battery services. MG is also offering free public charging for one year through its eHUB network. Additionally, the buyback option will provide up to 60% of the vehicle’s value even after three years.

*Only the starting prices have been revealed for now, while the variant-wise prices of the MG Windsor EV will be out in coming days.
