MG Windsor Essence Pro Launched: Bigger Battery, Longer Range, More Features

The MG Windsor Essence Pro has finally been launched in India at Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom, without battery), positioned as the range-topping variant in Windsor’s lineup. It gets a bigger battery, longer range and a host of additional features over the other variants.

The prices for the Essence Pro trim is introductory and is valid for the first 8,000 bookings only.

MG Windsor EV Essence Pro – More Suitable For Longer Trips

To start with, the new Windsor Essence Pro gets a bigger 52.9 kWh battery pack, which claims a range of 449 km on a single charge. However, even with the bigger battery pack, the Windsor EV Pro continues to offer the same performance as the standard model – 136PS and 200Nm, with a front-wheel-drive setup.

As for charging, it comes with a 7.4kW AC charger that takes around 9.5 hrs for a full charge. The EV also supports 60kW DC fast charging, which can juice it up from 20 to 80% in just 50 minutes.

Fresh Touches, Smarter Features

Design-wise, the Pro version looks similar to the other variants. It gets three new colours: Celadon Blue, Glaze Red and Aurora Silver.

Inside the cabin, the Pro trim boasts a new lighter theme with ivory leatherette seat upholstery, giving it an airy feel. Despite that, the interior design remains the same. Neverthless, the new Essence Pro trim gets a host of additional features such as vehicle-to-load (V2L), vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), powered tailgate and level-2 ADAS safety suite.

Besides, features like a floating 15.6-inch infotainment system, connected car tech, 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, 9-speaker Infinity sound system, a two-spoke steering wheel, 135-degree reclining rear seats, 256-colour ambient lighting, panoramic glass roof, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charger, six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill start & descent control, electronic parking brake with auto hold, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera etc., have been retained from other variants.
