MG Likely To Launch Wuling Cloud EV-based MPV In India By 2025

MG Motor has reportedly lined up two new all-electric mass-market models for the Indian market. Based on the E260 EV platform, these include a compact electric SUV and a compact MPV, both of which are expected to be priced below Rs 15 lakh.

The MG electric MPV is anticipated to be launched by March 2025 and could be based on the Wuling Cloud EV sold in Indonesia. With dimensions measuring approximately 4.3 meters in length and boasting a wheelbase of 2700mm, it falls 40mm shorter than the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga yet surpasses the Renault Triber by 64mm. The brand is likely to target both family buyers and fleet owners with this electric MPV. Currently, the fleet EV market is dominated by Tata Tigor X-Pres T EV and BYD e6.

Specifications of this upcoming MPV from MG haven’t been revealed yet, but its Wuling counterpart, the Cloud EV, comes with a 50.6kWh lithium-ion battery in Indonesia that claims over 500 kilometres of range. It boasts a 134PS Permanent Magnet Synchronous motor that offers around 240Nm of peak torque.
