MG Hector Snowstorm Edition, Astor Blackstorm Edition Launched

In view of the upcoming festive season, JSW MG Motor India has launched the Hector Snowstorm Edition at Rs 21.53 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand has also taken this opportunity to reintroduce the Astor Blackstorm Edition trim.

Based on the Sharp Pro variant, the MG Hector Snowstorm Edition is available across all three seating options of the SUV. Here’s a look at its price list: –

As seen in the table above, the MG Hector Snowstorm Edition commands a premium of up to Rs 32,000 over the regular model. For this added premium, it boasts tons of cosmetic enhancements both inside and out. These include: –

  • Dark chrome elements in the grille, bumpers & badging
  • Blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels
  • White exterior hue with blacked-out roof, pillars and side mirrors
  • Red streaks around the headlamps, taillights, and side mirrors
  • Red front brake callipers
  • All black dashboard & seats with gunmetal trim inserts
  • Snowstorm embossment on the front seat headrests

Aside from these above-mentioned additions, the Hector Snowstorm Edition remains unchanged. It continues to get features like a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a 9-speaker Infinity sound system, a wireless smartphone charger, automatic AC, power front seats with ventilation function, panoramic sunroof, and much more.

The MG Hector Snowstorm is available with two engine options: a 2-litre diesel engine producing 170PS, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 143PS, offered with a CVT.

MG Astor Blackstorm Edition

The 2024 MG Astor Blackstorm Edition is back, available only with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (110PS/144Nm) and based on the mid-spec Select variant. Prices have increased by Rs 34,000, with the manual priced at Rs 13.45 lakh and the CVT at Rs 14.46 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Astor Blackstorm features a black body with blacked-out badges, alloys, and red accents for a sporty touch. Inside, the all-black interior has red inserts, Blackstorm-embossed headrests, and a JBL sound system. Other features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, and wireless phone charger.

Competition Check

The MG Hector locks horns with the Tata Harrier/Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and Hyundai Alcazar. On the other hand, the MG Astor takes on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Honda Elevate.
