MG Gloster To Launch On 8th October

The launch of the upcoming Gloster SUV is scheduled for 8th October 2020, confirmed by the MG Motor India. Bookings of the SUV are already open. Interested customers can book the car by paying a token amount of Rs 1 lakh.

The Gloster is a body-on-frame (ladder frame), full-sized SUV with a three-row arrangement. Based on the Maxus D90 (available in China), it is the latest flagship offering of MG Motor India.

Mg Gloster: Variant & Seating Capacity

The Gloster SUV will be available in four variants (Super, Sharp, Smart, Savvy) and two seating options: 6-seater with captain seats for the middle row and a 7-seater with a bench seat. The Savvy and Smart trims will come in a 6-seater configuration while the Super variant will get a 7-seating layout. On the other hand, the Sharp variant being the only one to get both seating choices.

MG Gloster: Key Features

The MG Gloster is the largest SUV in its segment and is packed with some segment-first features such as autonomous emergency braking, front collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning. It also gets a 360-degree surround camera and autonomous parking assist function.

Other notable comforts and convenience features include smart keyless entry with engine start/stop button, three-zone climate control, front-seat ventilation, electronic parking brake, 12-way power-adjustable driver seat with massage function, an 8-way power-adjustable co-driver seat, panoramic sunroof, paddle shifters, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, iSmart connected car technology with remote control, 12-speaker sound system, semi-digital instrument cluster with a color TFT display, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), powered tailgate with kick-to-open function, an air purifier, and 7 terrain modes (Auto/Sport/Eco/Mud/Sand/Snow/Rock), etc.

The MG Gloster will be available with two engine options: a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine. The former engine will be available with a rear-wheel-drive system (RWD) while the latter comes with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) unit. Their specifications are as follows:-

The Gloster SUV will take on the likes of the Mahindra Alturas G4Ford Endeavour, and Toyota Fortuner. Its pricing is expected to start around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom).
