Despite sharing the same powertrain and Victoris being slightly heavier, it is claimed to be more fuel efficient than the Grand Vitara. While the Grand Vitara’s fuel efficiency figures are from its earlier launch and were certified before the E20 fuel rollout, its mileage has since dropped with the fuel change. However, the Victoris still claims higher fuel efficiency, raising questions about how this was achieved. It is unclear whether ARAI used the same fuel type for Victoris testing as it did for the Grand Vitara three years ago. We have reached out to Maruti Suzuki and ARAI for clarification, but have not received a response yet. So, stay tuned till we get an update.

Which SUV Should You Buy?

Victoris is strong in many areas and offers more modern features like a larger infotainment screen, full-digital driver’s display, a powered tailgate, a premium sound system with Dolby Atmos, Level-2 ADAS, and of course, a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating. So, if you’re considering the top-spec variant, the Victoris is definitely worth going for. As for the lower or mid-spec trims, which are considered by most buyers, we will cover those in a separate story.
