Maruti Suzuki Eeco Gets Dual Front Airbags As Standard; Prices Hiked

Maruti Suzuki Eeco is a popular entry-level van and it is now equipped with dual front airbags as standard. This update is in line with the latest norms that will make the front passenger airbag compulsory for all cars from January 2022. However, for new models, the rule has already been implemented from 1st April 2021. With this, the prices of Eeco have been hiked by up to Rs 8,000. It is now priced from Rs 4.33 lakh-5.68 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), whereas its Ambulance version costs Rs 7.37 lakh (ex-showroom). Here's a look at the variant-wise revised prices: –

The Eeco is available in either 5-seat or 7-seat configurations.

Apart from the introduction of the front co-passenger airbag, no other changes have been made. The Eeco continues to be offered with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (73PS/98Nm), paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It also gets an optional factory-fitted CNG kit that produces 63PS/85Nm.

The Eeco is claimed to offer a fuel efficiency of 16.11kmpl, whereas its CNG version returns 20.88km/kg.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco doesn't have any direct competitors in the Indian market. However, the Datsun Go Plus and Renault Triber are the only 7-seater offerings that come in this price range.
