Maruti Grand Vitara To Be Launched By September-end

Latest Update: Maruti Grand Vitara has finally been launched in India. Check the full-price list here.

Maruti Suzuki is all set to foray into the mid-size SUV segment with the all-new Grand Vitara, which is expected to be launched by the end of September 2022. Its bookings are underway and over 50,000 customers have already reserved their units ahead of its arrival.

Maruti Suzuki will offer the Grand Vitara in six variants: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, Zeta+, and Alpha+, with prices likely to range between Rs 9.50 lakh to Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will go up against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Nissan Kicks, and its cousin, Toyota Hyryder.

The SUV will be available with two engine options: the familiar 103PS 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology (103PS/137Nm) from its K-Series lineup and the Toyota-sourced 116PS 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder, TNGA Atkinson cycle strong-hybrid petrol engine. While the former will be provided with both 5-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission options, the latter will get a single-speed e-CVT automatic transmission. Maruti will also offer its AllGrip Select all-wheel drivetrain (AWD) on the mild-hybrid unit in the range-topping Zeta and Alpha variants. This SUV boasts up to 21.11 km/liter of fuel efficiency with the mild-hybrid powertrain and 27.97 km/l with the strong-hybrid unit, making it the most fuel-efficient SUV in its class.
