Maruti eVitara India Launch Pushed To September 2025

Revealed at the 2025 Auto Expo, the Maruti Suzuki eVitara was originally scheduled to launch by March 2025. However, after repeated delays, the carmaker has now pushed its market arrival to September 2025.

While the reason for the repeated delays isn’t clear, it seems like Maruti Suzuki wants to be very careful with its first all-electric offering, likely aiming to ensure the product is fine-tuned for Indian conditions and consumer expectations. With competition heating up in the EV space, the brand appears determined not to rush the launch. After all, a strong start in the EV segment is very crucial for the brand as it prepares to transition into a more sustainable future.

About Maruti Suzuki eVitara

For those unaware, the Maruti eVitara is the brand’s first all-electric vehicle that will be based on an all-new born EV skateboard platform dubbed “eHeartect.” It will be offered in three variants: Delta, Zeta and Alpha. While the Delta trim will get a smaller 48.8 kWh unit, the remaining variants will get a larger 61.1 kWh unit, with a claimed range of over 500 kiloemeters. It will support 70 kW DC fast charging which is expected to juice up the battery pack up to 80% in less than one hour.

Irrespective of the battery pack, the eVitara will get a front axle-mounted motor, yielding 143 PS of max power and 192.5 Nm of peak torque with the smaller battery pack variant and 173 PS/192.5 Nm of max output with the larger battery.
