Maruti Dzire Launched In Philippines With Mild-Hybrid Engine and CVT Gearbox

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which was launched in November 2024 in India, has now been introduced in the Philippines with a mild-hybrid petrol engine and a CVT automatic gearbox. However, it skips some convenience and safety features offered in the Indian-spec version.

Dzire: Indian-spec vs Philippine-spec Version

  • The biggest difference between both the models is that the Philippine-spec trim gets a mild-hybrid system with its 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. This should help in better fuel efficiency. However, the power figures are exactly the same as the Indian-spec trim (82PS/112Nm).
  • Another difference lies in the use of a more sophisticated CVT automatic gearbox, as opposed to the AMT unit offered in the India-spec Dzire.
  • In terms of features, the Indian-spec Dzire is more feature rich, as the Philippine-spec trim misses out the smartphone charger, electric sunroof, Arkamys tuned system and a 360-degree camera. Instead, it only gets a rear-view camera.

What’s Unchanged?

Aside from the above-mentioned differences, the Dzire of both the countries remain unchanged. Both models get the same styling and other creature comforts like LED headlamps with DRLs, 15-inch dual-tone alloys, floating 9-inch infotainment, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a height-adjustable driver seat, auto AC, rear AC vents, cruise control, push-button start, and a coloured MID.

Rivals

In the Indian market, the Dzire faces competition from the likes of Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze and Tata Tigor.
