Mahindra XUV700 Teased Again; Showcasing Smart Air Filter Technology

In order to build up momentum for XUV700's launch, Mahindra has once again teased the upcoming XUV700 SUV, revealing another interesting feature called ‘Smart Air Filter Technology’, which is said to filter out 99 percent bacteria and 95 percent viruses. However, the brand hasn't tested it against the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Besides, Mahindra has already teased many other segment-first features like auto-booster headlamps, personalized safety alerts, flush-fitting smart door handles, driver drowsiness detection, and the largest-in-segment sunroof.

In addition to the above-mentioned features, the XUV700 could also get bells & whistles like a dual-display setup for the touchscreen and instrument cluster, connected car technology with Alexa-based Artificial Intelligence, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, a 12-speaker Sony audio system with a subwoofer, multiple driving modes, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, and level-1 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which might include active safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, cross-traffic alert, blind-spot detection, and auto emergency braking, etc. Click here for more details.

Engine specifications of the new Mahindra XUV700 are yet to be revealed officially. But it is expected to be powered by 197PS 2.0-liter mStallion turbocharged petrol and 182PS 2.2-liter mHawk turbo-diesel motors, making it the most powerful offering in its class. Both powertrains will be available with manual and automatic transmissions choices. Also on offer could be a 4×4 drivetrain option with select variants.

Mahindra is likely to unveil the XUV700 on the upcoming Independence day (15th August 2021); however, its launch could take place on 2nd October 2021. Expect prices of this XUV500 successor to lie between Rs 15.5 lakh to Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom), which will put it in direct league with the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and Hyundai Alcazar
