Mahindra has expanded the 7-seater configuration to the lower trims of the XUV700, now available with the base MX variant starting from Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Earlier, the MX trim was only offered in a 5-seater configuration with prices starting from Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom). With the addition of the 7-seater layout for the entry-level variants, the XUV700 will now cater to a wider section of customers seeking a three-row SUV option.
XUV700 MX | 5-Seater | 7-seater |
MX Petrol | Rs 13.99 lakh | Rs 14.49 lakh |
MX Petrol (E) | Rs 14.49 lakh | Rs 14.99 lakh |
MX Diesel | Rs 14.59 lakh | Rs 14.99 lakh |
MX Diesel (E) | Rs 15.09 lakh | Rs 14.99 lakh |
Except for the MX Diesel (E) variant, the XUV700 MX 7-seater trims command a premium of Rs 50,000 over their 5-seater counterparts.
Speaking of features, the XUV700 MX trim comes decently loaded with necessities like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, 4 speakers, a 7-inch instrument cluster, smart door handles, C-type charging ports, adjustable headrests for window seats, a front centre armrest with storage, power-adjustable side mirrors, power windows, rear AC vents, steering-mounted controls, roof rails, rear spoiler, dual-front airbags, ISOFIX anchors, and ESP (restricted to E variants).
The XUV700 in MX 7 seater trim is powered by a 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine (200PS/300Nm) and a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine (155PS/360Nm), both paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox that propels the front wheels of the SUV. It misses out on the automatic transmission and AWD options, which are available in higher-spec trims.
In the Indian market, the XUV700 faces competition from the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector Plus.
