Mahindra XUV700 Bookings Open Officially; Special Prices For First 25,000 Customers

Bookings for the Mahindra XUV700 are now officially open through both online (via Mahindra’s website) and offline (via dealership channel) modes. Its test drives have also been started from today, but in selected cities, including Jaipur, Nashik, Cochin, Kanpur, Calicut, Cochin, Patna and Cuttack. Delivery dates for the XUV700 will be announced on October 10. However, the homegrown carmaker will start deliveries of petrol variants ahead of its diesel counterparts.

Mahindra has offered the XUV700 with a choice of 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engines. While the petrol mill makes out 200PS/360Nm, the diesel engine is available in three states of tune: 155PS/360Nm for the MX variant, 185PS/420Nm for manual AX trims, and 185PS/450Nm for automatic AX variants. Both engines can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The oil burner can also be had with an all-wheel-drivetrain (AWD) in the top-spec AX7 trim. 

 

In terms of features, the XUV700 comes loaded up to the brim. The highlights include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Alexa AI compatibility, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 60+ connected car technology, digital driver's display, flush-fitting door handles, 6-ways powered seats with memory function, smart air filter, leatherette seats, dual-zone climate control with rear AC vents, segment's largest panoramic sunroof, engine start-stop button, 6-speakers with sound staging, multiple driving modes (with diesel only), etc. However, it misses out on the auto-dimming IRVM and ventilation function for the front seats.

Passenger's safety is taken care of by up to 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, dynamic stability control, parking sensors, and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that further includes active safety techs like autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, Forward Collision Warning (FCW), smart pilot assist, high beam assist, driver drowsiness detection system, and traffic sign recognition.

Customers of AX7 trim can also opt the Luxury pack for Rs 1.8 lakh that comes with some additional features such as an electronic parking brake, a 12-speaker Sony 3D surround sound system, blind-spot monitoring system, electrically deployable door handles, passive keyless entry, a wireless smartphone charger, driver-side knee airbag, continuous digital video recording, and 360-degree camera over the standard AX7 features.

 

Thanks to its aggressive pricing and availability with both 5-and 7-seat configurations, the Mahindra XUV700 has a long list of competitors. That said, its five-seater variants locks horns with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Hector, and Tata Harrier, whereas its seven-seater trims rival the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari. Click here to know our opinions about the Mahindra XUV700 SUV.
