Mahindra XUV300 Diesel Recalled Over Defective Intercooler Hose

Mahindra has issued a silent recall for the diesel variants of BS6 XUV300 due to a possible defect in the intercooler hose (the hose that connects the Intercooler to the intake manifold). It is said to develop cracks over a period of time.

While the exact number of affected units is unknown at the moment, Mahindra has requested affected owners to bring their vehicles to their nearest authorized service station for inspection. And if the part is found defective, it will be replaced free of cost.

This is the second time that when Mahindra has recalled the XUV300 diesel in 2021. Earlier, it was recalled in the month of July over the possibility of premature wear & tear of the engine due to contaminated fuel.

For those who aren't aware, the Mahindra XUV300 comes with two engine options – a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol (110PS/200Nm) and a 1.5-liter diesel (117PS/300Nm). Both are available with 6-speed manual and AMT gearbox options.

The brand will soon introduce the XUV300 with a new 1.2-liter direct-injection TGDI petrol engine from the mStallion series, which was first showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. It churns out a maximum power output of 130PS and a peak torque of 230Nm, making it 20PS/30Nm more powerful than the ongoing petrol model.
