Mahindra has announced the launch of its upcoming all-electric three-row SUV, called the “XEV 9s”, on November 27. It is expected to be the electric derivative of the XUV700. However, it will be based on the born-electric INGLO skateboard platform and will be positioned between the BE 6 and XEV 9e in Mahindra’s EV lineup.
Mahindra XUV 9s – What to Expect?
While Mahindra is yet to share any details about this upcoming EV, it is expected to share its design cues with the XUV700 – especially the silhouette, while featuring several EV-specific styling elements and detailing. Its front fascia will be completely different from the XUV700. It could get a blanked-off grille with a full-width LED light bar and a pair of triangular LED headlamps, similar to the ones offered on the XEV 9e.
Other notable changes could include new aerodynamically designed alloy wheels, a connected LED tail lamp setup and a tweaked bumper.

Inside, XEV 9s is expected to feature a dashboard similar to the XEV 9e, with a triple-screen setup for the instrument cluster, infotainment system and the co-passenger’s entertainment. However, the colour scheme could differ to give it a distinct identity. A panoramic sunroof could also be seen in place of the panoramic glass panel offered in the XEV 9e.
The feature list is likely to be largely the same as that of the XEV 9e, with key highlights including auto LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, memory function for the powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, dual-zone AC, wireless charger, multi-colour ambient lighting, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, a heads-up display, 360-degree camera, seven airbags and level-2 ADAS suite.
Mahindra is expected to offer it in both 6- and 7-seater configurations.
