Latest Update: The news was based on a leaked image of a Type Approval certificate that was circulated online. However, Mahindra has officially denied the arrival of these variants, suggesting that they are not launching anytime soon, if at all.
Going by the overwhelming response from buyers for the new XEV 9e, Mahindra is expected to expand its variant lineup to cater to a wider section of buyers. A leaked Type Approval document suggested that two new variants based on the top-spec Pack Three variant are likely to be launched soon, named Pack Three B59 and Pack Three Select B79.
As the name suggests, the upcoming Pack Three B59 is expected to be the top-spec trim paired with a smaller 59 kWh battery pack, likely offering a lower range without compromising on comfort and convenience. Meanwhile, the Pack Three Select B79 is anticipated to get a larger 79 kWh unit for those who need more range but can do without some creature comforts.

Currently, Mahindra retails the XEV 9e in four variants: Pack One, Pack Two, Pack Three Select, and Pack Three. Save for the Pack Three trim, all other variants come with a 59 kWh battery pack, while the Pack Three exclusively comes with a 79 kWh unit. Now, here’s a look at their specifications: –
Battery Pack | 59 kWh | 79 kWh |
Max Power | 231 PS | 286 PS |
Peak Torque | 380 Nm | 380 Nm |
Claimed Range (MIDC P1+P2) | 542 km | 656 km |
Drivetrain | RWD | RWD |
