Mahindra To Auction First Serial No.1 Thar To Support COVID-19 Battle

Mahindra has announced to auction the first unit of second-generation Thar dubbed as ‘Thar #1’ for COVID-19 charity. Registrations for the auction is already opened at a refundable deposit on Mahindra’s website

The auction will take place between 24th September to 29th September 2020 whereas the car is scheduled to launch on 2nd October 2020.  Mahindra will add an equal amount to the amount proposed at the auction and the entire money will be given to either Naandi Foundation, Swades Foundation, or PM CARES fund, as chosen by the customer. 

The first Thar will be special in these ways:-

Mahindra has declared that first Thar will carry some uniqueness from other models. It will get a "serial no.1" badge on the embellishing VIN plate on the dashboard. The leatherette seats will also carry the number 1 embossing on it. On the exterior, the model will get a ‘Thar #1’ badge and customized badging with the winning bidder's initials.

Which variant will be auctioned?

Thar #1 will be based on the LX variant and the winning bidder will be allowed to choose from Thar's colors and powertrain options as per their choice.

About All New Mahindra Thar

Mahindra has already unveiled the Next-gen Mahindra Thar. It will be offered in two variants: AX (Adventure) and LX (Lifestyle). The Thar AX variant strives at the adventurer seekers while the LX gets the more premium proposition. It will be available with two engine options: 2.2-liter diesel (130PS/300Nm) and a 2.0-liter mStallion turbo petrol engine (150PS/320Nm). Both the engines will be available with an option of 6-speed manual transmission and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
