Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition – What’s Special?

As mentioned above, the new Star Edition distinguishes itself from the regular Thar Roxx with a host of cosmetic enhancements inside and outside. These include: –

  • Piano-black grille that gives the SUV a bold yet sophisticated status.
  • Piano black finish for the 19-inch alloy wheels, giving the SUV a more commanding look.

On the features front, the SUV remains unchanged from the AX7 trim. Having said that, it continues with amenities like an all-LED lighting system, rear wiper & washer, rear defogger, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, front ventilated seats, tyre direction indicatorm a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, cruise control, multiple terrain modes, auto-dimming IRVM, TPMS and six airbags.

Engine Options

As is clear from the price table, the Thar Roxx Star Edition is available with both a 2-litre turbo-petrol (178HP/380Nm) and a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel mill (175HP/400Nm). While the former is available only with a manual gearbox, the latter gets both manual and automatic transmission options. Remarkably, the Star Edition is a rear-wheel-drive-only vehicle and skips the 4×4 system.

Rivals

The Thar Roxx has no direct rival in the country. However, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Force Gurkha can be seen as their close alternatives with robust off-road provenness.
