Mahindra Thar Now Available In Deep Forest Colour Option

The Mahindra Thar is now available in a new exterior shade: Deep Forest green, available for both the AX(O) and LX variants. This new captivating body hue, already popular with the Scorpio N and the recently launched XUV 3XO, adds a fresh and adventurous vibe to the Thar off-roader.

With the introduction of the new Deep Forest option, Mahindra Thar’s colour palette now has six choices, including Red Rage, Deep Grey, Everest White, Stealth Black, and Dessert Fury. The latter is limited to the Thar Earth Edition.

No Updates to the Equipment List

Besides the new colour option, Mahindra Thar hasn’t received any update on its equipment list. It continues to get amenities like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, manual AC, 6-speaker, cruise control, height-adjustable driver’s seat, rear defogger, rear wiper & washer, keyless entry, dual-front airbags, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, hill hold & descent assist, real-time adventure statistics, tyre pressure & direction monitoring system, rear parking sensors, and reverse camera.

Powertrain and Transmission Options

Mahindra offers the Thar SUV with three engine choices – 1.5-litre diesel, 2-litre mStallion petrol and 2.2-litre diesel. It is offered with both rear-wheel-drive and shift-on-the-fly 4×4 drivetrain (4WD) with a manual shift transfer case as standard. Here’s a look at its specifications: –

Price and Rivals

Mahindra recently increased the prices of the Thar by up to Rs 10,000, costing it between Rs 11.35 lakh and Rs 17.60 lakh (ex-showroom). In the lifestyle SUV segment, the Thar locks horns with the recently upgraded Force Gurkha and Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
