Mahindra Sets Up 180 kW Charge_IN Stations, Plans 1,000-Point Network

In a major push to strengthen India’s electric vehicle ecosystem, Mahindra has announced the rollout of its Charge_IN ultra-fast charging network, featuring exclusively 180 kW chargers. As part of its long-term EV roadmap, the company aims to install 1,000 charging points across the country by the end of 2027, making long-distance EV travel easier, quicker, and more reliable.

Mahindra has already inaugurated its first two Charge_IN stations—one at Hoskote on the Bengaluru–Chennai NH 75 corridor, and another at Murthal on NH 44, around 50 km from Delhi. Each site houses two dual-gun 180 kW chargers, allowing up to four EVs to charge simultaneously, marking a significant step toward building India’s high-speed EV charging backbone.

Speaking at the launch, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Executive Director, Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd., highlighted the company’s commitment to accessible and sustainable mobility. He said, “Electric mobility is about driving a larger shift towards cleaner, sustainable transportation. With Charge_IN, we aim to make long-distance electric travel effortless and reliable. An open and accessible fast-charging network will accelerate India’s transition to EVs.”

The Charge_IN network is designed for convenience and interoperability. Stations will be positioned along major highways and high-traffic routes, co-located with restaurants and cafés to make charging stops more comfortable for travellers. Mahindra’s next-gen eSUVs—XEV 9e, BE 6 and the upcoming XEV 9S—can charge from 20 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes using these chargers.

EV users of all brands will be able to locate and access these charging points through the Charge_IN by Mahindra app and other aggregator platforms. Mahindra owners can also use the Me4U app to discover, charge, and pay across a network of nearly 34,000 public charging points, including Charge_IN locations.

With this initiative, Mahindra moves closer to building a robust, nationwide EV charging infrastructure—one that supports India’s shift toward widespread electric mobility.
