Mahindra has updated the infotainment system of Scorpio SUV with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity support at no extra cost.
Currently, the BS6 Mahindra Scorpio is available in four variants: S5, S7, S9, and S11, in which the S9 and S11 trims come equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. And with this latest update, its practicality and driver's convenience have been increased much more as the smartphone connectivity enables to access various functions of the mobile without losing focus on the road. Furthermore, the function can also be controlled via voice commands or the steering-mounted buttons which are meant for driving scenarios.

Apart from this, there are no other mechanical or features changes. Its top variant continues to get goodies like projector headlamps with LED DRLs, front fog lamps, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, cruise control, dual front airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, and a reverse camera, etc.
Under the hood, Scorpio's heart is a 2.2-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that churns out 140PS and 320Nm. It gets 6-speed manual transmission as standard which transmits the power to the rear wheels only. In early 2020, Mahindra has discontinued the 2.5-liter diesel motors and 4×4 variants with the BS6 update.

Author's Take
There is no doubt that these newly added smartphone connectivity features increase driving convenience. But still, the Mahindra Scorpio is far behind in terms of comfort equipment when compared to the other cars of the same price range. However, Mahindra will launch the next-generation version of Scorpio by the next year which would be better in all departments.
