Mahindra Reveals Specs of XEV 9e and BE 6e Electric SUVs

Mahindra is all set to unveil its two new all-electric offerings: the XEV 9e SUV-coupe and BS 6e SUV, on November 26, 2024. Ahead of their debut, the carmaker has revealed their key specifications.

  • As per the carmaker, both of these upcoming offerings will be based on the brand’s new EV-specific INGLO platform.
  • They will be offered with 59kWh and/or 79kWh battery packs and will support DC fast charging of up to 175kW. This will enable batteries to juice up from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
  • Both are likely to be rear-wheel drive only, at least in the initial phase, with motor outputs ranging between 231PS and 286PS. However, the platform can accommodate front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations as well.
  • These EVs will feature Mahindra’s so-called “compact 3-in-1 powertrain”, which integrates a motor, an inverter and a transmission into a single unit.

  • Design-wise, the BE 6e boasts a bold and angular bonnet, giving it a strong road presence. It features horizontally-placed dual-barrel LED headlights complemented by C-shaped LED DRLs, adding a modern touch. The sleek bumper design further enhances its contemporary aesthetics.
  • The XEV 9e stands out with its distinctive coupe-style roofline, offering a sporty and elegant profile. At the front, it showcases an upright design with inverted L-shaped connected LED DRLs and vertically-stacked dual-barrel LED headlights, making it instantly recognizable. The rear design is completed with futuristic connected LED tail lights, ensuring a cohesive look.
  • Inside, the XEV 9e will feature a triple-screen setup, featuring a central infotainment system, a digital driver’s display and a touchscreen unit on the passenger side. On the contrary, the BE 6e will get a dual-integrated screen.
  • Depending on the model, they are also expected to feature multi-zone climate control, a wireless smartphone charger, ventilated & powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, two-spoke steering with an illuminated logo, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS tech.
  • Mahindra is expected to position the XEV 9e against the upcoming Tata Harrier EV, while the BE 6e will take on the likes of Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti eVX.
