Mahindra & Mahindra has kicked off FY2027 on a strong note, registering total auto sales of 94,627 units, including exports, in April 2026, marking a 14 per cent year-on-year growth. The company’s performance was largely driven by its robust SUV portfolio, which continues to witness steady demand in the domestic market.
In the Utility Vehicles (UV) segment, Mahindra sold 56,331 units domestically, reflecting an 8 per cent increase from 52,330 units sold in the same month last year. Including exports, total UV sales stood at 57,833 units. The brand’s popular models, such as the Scorpio-N, Thar, and XUV700, continue to contribute significantly to this growth momentum.
The Commercial Vehicle segment also posted stable numbers, with 33,326 units sold domestically. Meanwhile, exports saw a notable surge, rising 47 per cent to 4,970 units, indicating improving demand in international markets.

According to Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the Automotive Division at M&M Ltd., the company has started the new financial year on a positive note, backed by consistent SUV demand and a well-rounded product lineup.

While Mahindra has shown strong year-on-year growth, a month-on-month comparison indicates that sales have remained largely stable, with slight fluctuations depending on dispatch cycles and market demand.
Overall, Mahindra’s sustained growth highlights its strong positioning in the SUV space, along with improving traction in exports and last-mile mobility segments.
