Mahindra Born EV Concept Lineup: New Teaser Reveals Cockpit-Style Interior

  • Born EVs will be designed by Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) division.
  • Features an aircraft-styled drive selector, futuristic bucket seats, and aerodynamically styled alloy wheels.
  • Gets a thick wraparound panel on the driver’s side.
  • The first production-spec model is expected by 2025.

Mahindra & Mahindra has once again teased the interior of its upcoming Born EV concept lineup, this time revealing more quirky bits of its futuristic design.

The latest teaser video of the upcoming Mahindra Born EVs reveals the aircraft-styled throttle lever (read as drive selector), along with a rotary knob on the center console. We’ve also got our first glimpse of its modernistic bucket seats with wraparound headrests and aerodynamically styled alloy wheels. Keen eyes could also notice that its outside mirrors have been replaced with rear cameras; however, that is unlikely to make its way to the production-spec version.

The other notable elements include XUV700-like wide connected screens, an angular steering wheel, and most importantly a fighter jet-like wraparound cockpit design with the driver seat surrounded by a red-colored thick panel that integrates AC vents within the center.

Besides that, the earlier teaser of the Mahindra Born concept SUVs suggests that all three upcoming EVs will belong to a different segment, i.e, a compact SUV, a midsize SUV, and an SUV coupe, but will share a common design language with C-shaped LED lighting system and slanted rooflines. They will be designed by the brand’s UK-based Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) division, which is headed by Pratap Bose.

Mahindra will unveil these concept SUVs in July 2022. However, the first Born EV will go on sale by 2025. Unlike the eVerito and the upcoming eKUV100 and XUV300 electric, the Born electric lineup will be based on an all-new dedicated electric car platform that will be scalable for a range of modern, youthful, and agile vehicles.
