Mahindra Bolero Neo Likely To Get A 9-Seater Plus Variant Soon

Mahindra has recently launched a premium alternative to the Bolero called 'Bolero Neo', which is essentially a facelift version of the now-discontinued TUV300 SUV. Since the TUV300 was also available in a longer wheelbase version, the brand could also launch the same for Bolero Neo. In fact, Veejay Nakra, CEO-Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra has also confirmed this in an interview with NDTV.

Similar to the TUV300 Plus, the Bolero Neo Plus will also be around 400-410mm longer than the standard model. It will come in a 9-seating configuration, featuring two side-facing bench-type seats in the boot section. It will continue to get identical aesthetical changes as the Bolero Neo that mainly includes a new 6-slat grille, new headlamps with LED DRLs, redesigned bumpers with refreshed fog lamps, X-type spare wheel cover with ‘Bolero’ moniker, and a spoiler on the outside. The cabin gets a new beige color upholstery, cruise control, and Thar’s twin-pod instrument cluster with a new MID. Besides, its underpinnings and features list will also remain unchanged.

Beneath the bonnet, the Bolero Neo Plus is expected to employ the same 2.2-liter diesel engine as the TUV300 Plus. Paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, the engine was rated at 120PS and 280Nm. On the other hand, the 7-seater Bolero Neo gets a 100PS 1.5-liter diesel engine, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission unit. The brand could also offer an automatic gearbox option at a later stage on customers' demand.
