Mahindra Alturas Gets A New 2WD HIGH Variant At Rs 30.68 Lakh

  • Alturas G4 is now available in a sole 2WD High variant.
  • The older 2WD and 4WD variants have been discontinued.
  • Around Rs 1.2 lakh more affordable than the previous top-spec 4WD variant.

Mahindra has silently introduced a new 2WD HIGH variant for the Alturas G4 full-size SUV at Rs 30.68 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). With this, the earlier 2WD and 4WD variants have been removed from the official website. That means, the 4-wheel-drivetrain option will no longer be available with the Mahindra Alturas G4.

The new 2WD HIGH variant of the Alturas G4 gets all the whistles & bells of the 4WD variant. These include an all-LED lighting system, HID projector headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, powered tailgate, heated ORVMs with the auto-tilt mode in reverse, premium Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, 8-way adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, a single-pane electric sunroof, puddle lamp, ambient lighting, cruise control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 6-speakers, dual-zone climate control with rear AC vents, and much more.

Safety is ensured by a 360-degree camera, front & rear parking sensors, nine airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, tire repair kit, ABS with EBD, electronic parking brakes with auto-hold function, hill assist, Active Rollover Protection, electronic stability control, etc.

Powering the Mahindra Alturas G4 2WD HIGH variant is a 2.2-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that makes a maximum output of 181PS and 420Nm. It drives the rear wheels of the SUV via a Mercedes Benz sourced 7-speed automatic transmission.

Mahindra offers the Alturas G4 in four color options: Pearl White, Napoli Black, D Sat Silver, and Regal Blue.

In the Indian market, the Alturas G4 goes up against the Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and the petrol-only Skoda Kodiaq.
