The Italian luxury supercar maker Lamborghini has launched the Huracan EVO RWD Spyder in India at Rs. 3.54 crore (ex-showroom). It is actually a convertible variant in the Huracan range. Here's where it stands in Huracan EVO's variant line-up: –
Lamborghini Huracan EVO | Ex-showroom Price |
RWD | Rs 3.21 crore |
RWD Spyder | Rs 3.54 crore |
AWD | Rs 3.72 crore |
AWD Spyder | Rs 4.10 crore |
Compared to the regular AWD Spyder, the new RWD Spyder is approximately Rs 46 lakh less expensive. For this huge price gap, the company has dropped the AWD setup.
Powering the Lamborghini Huracán Evo RWD is the same 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated V10 engine as the AWD Spyder that belts out a whopping power output of 610PS at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 560Nm at 6,500rpm, that is 30PS/40Nm less than it's AWD counterpart. The power is being transferred to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). It can reach 100kmph speed from standstill in merely 3.5 seconds (0.4sec slower than the AWD Spyder) before achieving the top speed of 324kmph.
Lamborghini offers the RWD Spyder with an advanced Performance Traction Control (P-TCS) along with three driving modes: Strada, Sport, and Corsa. Compared to a standard traction control system, the proactive management of torque improves the effectiveness on low-grip surfaces in Strada mode, maximizes the “fun to drive” element in Sport mode, and intensifies vehicle traction & sharpness at corner exit in Corsa mode.
Design-wise, the RWD Spyder gets a few changes on the outside when compared to its elder sibling. It features a shark-like nose and new & sharper lines in the rear diffusor. Also, the Y-shaped inserts have been replaced with simpler yet wider & sharper air intakes. It gets 19-inch wheels as standard along with optional 20-inch wheels. It's convertible roof is made up of a soft material that can be electronically lowered in 17 seconds, at speeds up to 50kmph. It is 33kg more volatile than the 4WD model. Its dry weight is 1,389kg.
The cabin, on the other hand, is in line with the AWD model. It gets an 8.4-inch HMI touchscreen infotainment system placed in portrait style. It comes with features like Apple CarPlay & Android Auto smartphone integration functions, OTA updates support, Amazon Alexa voice assistant, rear time traffic information, car finder, geofencing, and much more. It also gets carbon-fiber sport seats with an exclusive hue for the leather and Alcantara upholstery.
The deliveries of the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD Spyder begin from today. It will soon face competition from the upcoming Mclaren 720S in India.
